Toners
The classic toner has come a long way since the original formulas that were designed to refresh and tighten skin after cleansing. Modern toners have more nourishing and sophisticated formulas to suit all skin types, packed with a host of skincare benefits and don’t leave skin parched in the process. So what does toner do for skin? A toner is applied to add an extra ‘boost’ of hydration and skin-replenishing antioxidants in-between your cleanser and serum. UpCircle’s Face Toner with Hyaluronic Acid acts like a sponge, soaking up moisture and drawing it into the skin. READ MORE

Toners also work to balance the skin’s pH levels and create a water pathway to allow other products to absorb more effectively. They are traditionally applied with a cotton pad, or you could try splashing and patting them into the skin (a popular Korean method). Many are packed with antioxidants, such as BeMine Vitamin C Toner – which you spray on like a mist – delivering anti-pollution skincare benefits in the bargain.
A skin mist is a water spray that works in a similar way to a toner (a product can sometimes double up as both), imbuing skin with an additional boost of hydration and nutrients. Particularly good for dry or dehydrated skin types, mists are a great way to treat your skin, almost like a mini facial. Keep a face mist in your handbag or on your desk to refresh your skin throughout the day. They can even combat particular skin concerns – you might want to try BAO Skincare Hydrating Rose Mist, a lovely cooling spray which works to calm hormonal skin and reduce redness. Trouble sleeping? Then a calming pillow mist is what you need. Spritz them on your pillow just before lights out, and breathe in their relaxing aroma. Amor Sui Amethyst Sleep Mist contains amethyst crystals and soothing frankincense and lavender oils to help you drift off into a peaceful slumber. Another great sleep mist is Pure Savvy Call It A Night Pillow Mist, which contains a stress-busting blend of oils to coax your mind into ‘sleep mode’.
