As a mixed race baby of Sudanese, Congolese, Italian & Belgian heritage, adopted into a Caucasian British & Canadian family, founder Jessica Parrish lacked not only a strong sense of identity but had no idea what to do with her hair!

She struggled to find the right products for her curls, even the right professionals to help her look after them and having no-one with curl knowledge in her adopted family she was at a loss.

Having a successful International career in the food industry, she was fortunate to frequently travel the globe but found that no matter where she travelled, curls were still under supported both on the shelves and in the salons.

She decided that this needed to change and whilst her curls are individual given her mix, she wanted to find a way to care for all curls whether they present in tight coils or loose waves. They all needed to be considered, understood and supported.

And so Shedid & Parrish was born.
